I bought lottery yesterday.
I only bought 10 pieces. They cost 3,000 yen.
The first prize is 3 hundred million.
I think almost all people consider that a lottery is a donation.
We really want to win a prize in a lottery though.
We want to enjoy our dream.
We know the proverb “Don't count your chickens before they are hatched though.
People line to buy lottery.
I think 3 hundred million is not so large prize as lottery.
There are so high-priced lotteries in other country.
Their prizes are billions, right?
I think Japanese government is busy body.
They think that high-priced lottery is against public order and standards of decency so they don't permit it.
If I win 3 hundred million yen, I’ll buy large apartment and take a trip around the world with my sons.
Oh! Before I leave Japan I'll visit you Satoe. |

I found a very beautiful picture of children.
Let me show you.
I studied about them on the net.
They live in Northern Areas of Pakistan.
Northern Areas of Pakistan, spread over 72,496 sq. km.
Amidst towering snow-clad peaks with heights varying from 1,000 m to 8, 000 meters, the regions of Gilgit, Hunza and Baltistan recall Shangri-La.
People say that Hunza is the model place of Japanese animation, "Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind"by Hayao Miyazaki.
http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/nausicaa/
Hunza
Gilgit
Kalash valleys
One of the major attractions of Chitral are the Kalash valleys- the home of the Kafir-Kalash or "Wearers of the Black Robes", a primitive pagan tribe.
Their ancestry is enveloped in mystery and is the subject of controversy. A legend says that five soldiers of the legions of Alexander of Macedonia settled in Chitral and are the progenitors of the Kafir-Kalash.
They say that there are so many apricot trees.
I wish I could visit there when apricot trees are in full bloom. |

I found this news on the net.
| Quote: |
-Egyptian feminist author to run for Egyptian president (07:00 PST) December 10 2004 ------------
CAIRO: Feminist Egyptian author Nawal Saadawi said on Wednesday she plans to run in next year's presidential race, even though she does not expect to win
Saadawi, aged 73, will be the first ever woman to run for the post and will probably be up against incumbent President Hosni Mubarak, who is expected to run again for his fifth term in office. |
I don't know about Egypt at all but I guess she is very bravery.
So I search her.
She is Nawal el Saadawi.
Nawal el Saadawi has authored over thirty books, including the intense novel ”Woman at Point Zero” and the groundbreaking nonfiction work ”The Hidden Face of Eve”. Her most recent is the autobiographical ”Daughter of Isis",published by Zed Books in 1999.
She looks so energetic and attractive.
Sadat put her in prison because of one article she wrote. Just one article. It was not even critical of his policy.
This is her interview in 1999.
http://home.earthlink.net/~twoeyesmagazine/issue1/nes.htm
It's very interesting and easy to read.
I hope all of the writers in English write in English such as her English. |

I went to see my dentist this morning before I came to our office.
A filling in my tooth came off the day before yesterday.
I guessed that it was very easy job and it wouldn’t take much time.
Unfortunately my gums are so healthy so they rose.
My dentist shot some anesthesia injections and pressed my gums and put on a filling again.
Now I have some strange feeling on my left side gums.
I’m hungry and I want to eat something.
But I should be patient a little bit more. |

I deep-flied small fish last night.
we call them "Kibinago" in Japanese.
They were so tasty. We could enjoy them.
But a few drops of oil spat on my right hand.
Ouch!
It was my unlucky day yesterday. |

I saw one of my friends on TV last night.
Do you know the TV program “Unbelievable”?
They show some unreliable stories.
My friend acted in a short movie which explains the story.
It was about the man who lives in the airport.
Movie director, Steven Spielberg got a hint from that story and made the movie “Terminal”
This is real “the man who lives in the airport”
He has been living in a airport more than 16 years.
Can you believe it?
I think he was a resistance in Iran but now he is just an eccebtric person.
don't you think so?
This is Tom Hanks.
Do you like Tom Hanks?
I like him but he appeared a lot of movie so I only watched a part of his movies.
When I watched “Green Mile” I was impressed so much and I was in very special mood for several weeks.
I don’t have any idea how I could explain it
This is my friend.
Please go to my friend's website,
http://mypage.odn.ne.jp/home/jamila
and go to "News/Products" December 17.
I tried put his picture which he was acting in TV program but it appears X |

I cooked Kinako-Mochi today.
Kinako-Mochi is Mochi Cake with sweet soy powder.
It’s traditional sweet in Japan.
Mochi is cooked glutinous rice.
It is pounded into a mass and shaped into rectangular or round cakes.
We traditionally eat them in Japanese New Year’s soup.
And also we sometimes eat them as a snack or dessert.
1,Mix combine the soy power, sugar and a pinch of salt.
2,Toast 2 mochi cakes in a toaster or a wire mesh over the stove top for 6or 7 minutes or until they puff up.
3,Immerse briefly in boiling hot water until soft.
4,Drain and place the cakes on serving dishes.
5,Coat generously with 1) and serve immediately.
My older son’s friends came to our apartment today.
I heard that their stomach sounded so I toasted a lot of Mochi cakes in a toaster.
My kids and their friends ate a lot of Kinako-Mochi.
But we have to use this type toaster
Not this type

Oh! Sebastian. you are really influenced a lot.
It’s Christmas today.
I’m not Christian but I like Christmas.
Almost of all the people want to love somebody, lover, friends, parents, children.
We ate a small cake last night and I checked my children’s school report because it was the last day of their second term.
Ummmmm. Never mind. My kids are good boy and healthy.
It’s enough for me. I should think so.
My kids are invited some party taday, too.
I should make them eat some dishes before they leave home.
If they visite their friend's party being hungry, they might eat up all dishes. |

| More than 150,000 people are believed to have lost their lives in the Indian Ocean tsunami last week, and the exact figure may never be known, the UN says. |
Everybody knows this terrible news.
It takes years to recover in those countries.
It’s very sorry we started the New Year hearing such a sad news.
They say there was Atlantis but nobody knows it’s true or not.
And some of us couldn’t believe such a enormous tsunami.
Now, we can believe.
I pray for people who passed away and people who lost their important people and things.

I saw a picture of Spanish omelet on a blog this morning.
It looked so tasty.
Blog master is Japanese lady and her husband is Spanish American.
Her husband cooked it.
Oh~~. She is so lucky.
I decided to cook it for our breakfast though I’m sure how to cook it.
I boiled potatoes and fry cut onion.
Then I poured six beaten eggs into flying pan.
I cook it over on a low flame.
I covered a dish on flying pan and turn it over.
Ummmmm. We could enjoy tasty and soft Spanish omelet.
But it didn’t look nice. ha,ha,ha

From the begging of New Year, I caught a very bad cold.
I got a red nose just like a red nose reindeer.
My voice turned a very funny nasal tone.
One of my friends came to our apartment and cooked very nice soup for me.
It included a chicken, a tomato, an onion, garlic, a ginger, cinnamon, black pepper and a lot of herb which I don’t know those names.
It made me warm and gave me energy.
My friend also cooked chicken curry for my kids.
It’s their favorite.
We are very happy.
I should tell you that I couldn't win a lottery at the end of the year.
Ummmm. I'm very sorry about that. |

I'm sorry to hear that you caught a bad cold. I catch a cold too, but it's not serious. I have a good appetite! LOL
I'm also sorry that you didn't win the lottery. It means I can't go to around the world with you and your sons. |

Yes, Satoe. I'm very sorry about that.
I simmered fish with white flesh tonight.
We, Japanese use soy sauce, sugar, sake and ginger or some pickled ume.
It smelled good but a gas alarm echoed loudly.
We know that our gas alarm works when we use sake for cooking.
So I turned off the switch of alarm but it didn’t stop yelling.
I was up set so I put off the alarm from our ceiling.
It’s just like a story of Shepherd and wolf in Aesop fairy tale.
How can we find a gas leak?

I found sow on the roof of cars in parking area of our apartment this morning.
It’s very unusual thing in our city.
I understood that I felt very cold when I woke up.
This is Osaka Castle.
Around noon it snowed a lot.
It looked like a snowstorm.
Fortunately, I was in our office and I could see a very dramatic white world sitting by a window.
Then it stopped snowing suddenly.
Now I can see very beautiful blue sky.
It’s marvelous. |

I saw the news about snow on TV, and they told that there were many traffic accidents on roads in Kansai region. Fortunately, we didn't have snow around here, but it was very very cold and windy. |

The snow is very beautiful! Where I live, we got 38 inches (96.5cm!) of snow! We couldn't open the door for a while. I had 2 days off from school. |

It was St. Valentine’s Day yesterday.
I presented my sons and friends chocolates.
I got a chocolate and some e-mail cards.
I felt happy.
One of my friends e-mailed me her pictures and her cat’s pictures.
Her cat resembles our cat, Tama who died in 2000.
So my kids and I have an illusion.
It means still Tama is fine with my friend.
We felt happy

Hey,hey Laura
You can ski in your yard, right?
You are lucky I think. We have to spend a lot of money for sking.
We have to visit the northern part of Japan.
I think my kids won't be able to go sking this season because they say they are short of money. |

^_^ I suppose I could try to ski in my yard, I don't really have a hill though. I have to go west or north of where I live to find some mountains, but it isn't too far away. |
